Going far and wide to inform electric bicycle riders of the importance of safe riding
The small vehicles that occupy the streets of Tel-Aviv, Israel, allow for rapid and efficient mobility and help reduce congestion on the roads. Nevertheless, they have led to an increasing number of accidents and casualties. In 2016, 10 cyclists and electric scooter riders were killed and 653 injured, half of them with head injuries.
The growing popularity of electric bicycles, especially among teens with no prior driving experience, is a direct contributor to casualties among drivers and pedestrians alike.
